The bus, which had 19 students on board, landed in a Dry Creek bed on the side after hit a bridge in a Dry Creek bed.

Earnest Wright said he had cooked outside when the bus drove past while waiting for his grandchildren.

“I saw how the bus came around the curve, it seemed as if it were being directed again and again,” Wright recalled. “I look down there, she hit the bridge and next I know that the bus came over the bridge, then went over the stream.”

The crash caused Wright to take measures, who says that he had evacuated several students.

“I brought out some of the people,” said Wright. “I told the woman next door she should call 911 because I needed more help to get these people out, but everything turned out.”

Several agencies from Sumner County reacted to the scene.

Most of the students were brought to a school and reunited with their parents when first aiders examined the crash.

While the matter does not yet have to be determined, Wright says, he was grateful that he was there to help.

“I feel good when I do it, it's my heart,” said Wright. “As the bus turned – thank God. Everything I can say is God.”

THP said the driver could be charged with the preliminary crash report against the result of the examination of the crash.
