Woman who was arrested for the second time after allegedly threatening Boulder school children

Boolder, Colo. – A woman who was arrested at the beginning of this week in connection with alleged threats to Boulder school children is available for additional charges, the police authority from Boulder said on Friday.

The suspect Alyiah Faith Vega, 52, was first arrested by the Boulder police on Monday evening after threatening a teacher and a group of students with a knife in the 1700 block of Broadway that day.

The Boulder police said the teacher and the students were gone and were not injured.

Vega was instructed on Monday evening in connection with this incident in the prison of Boulder County for threats crimes, but was released on Tuesday morning due to a personal recognition bond.

On Thursday, the public prosecutor's office of the Boulder district submitted 18 other crimes and 17 cases of child abuse, which led to their second arrest.

The police said Vega initially gave the officials a wrong name when she was arrested and did not appear in court after her release.

Vega, who also has outstanding arrest warrants from Boulder County, Lakewood and Edwater in connection with dangerous drugs, criminal imitations and DUI ranking, is now in custody in a bond of $ 30,000 and is scheduled to appear on Tuesday.

In a statement on Friday, Boulder County da Michael Dougherty said that he was grateful to the Boulder police for the arrest: “After she was released on the strong opposition from our prosecutor and could not appear for the court.”

Dougherty said his office, “in this case it was firmly obliged to fight for justice.”

Boulder PD believes that there could be additional victims.

Everyone is asked to call the tip line of the department at 303-441-1974 and reference case 25-04126.
