Guardians score against pirates | Kyle Manzardo, Ben LIVELY help Cleveland to beat Paul Slenes

Extra base hits by Kyle Manzardo and Daniel Schneeman did the Guardians to spoil a strong start of Paul Slenes at the Bobblead Day of Pirates All-Star on April 19.

The guards won 3-0 when Cleveland Starter Ben LIVELY captured more than against Slenes.

Lively and four helpers combined in the shutout when Cleveland won the second day in a row against the pirates. It was the fourth end of the guards of the season.

LIVELY worked 5⅓ Innerings and beat three. He gave up four goals and a walk.

Slenes went seven innings, hit four and gave up six goals and a walk. However, a double from Schneeman and a Homerun by Manzardo led him to deserve two runs.

The guards scored their first run of Skenes in the third inning. Snowman doubled to start the rally and switched to third place with a groundout. Steven Kwan followed with an RBI single to the right and Cleveland led 1-0.

With Lively Shutting Down the Pirates, The Score Remained 1-0 Until the Seventh When Manzardo Drilled Sken '86th Pitch, which was down and in.
