Guardians score against pirates | Kyle Manzardo, Ben LIVELY help Cleveland to beat Paul Slenes

Extra base hits by Kyle Manzardo and Daniel Schneeman did the Guardians to spoil a strong start of Paul Slenes at the Bobblead Day of Pirates All-Star on April 19.

The guards won 3-0 when Cleveland Starter Ben LIVELY captured more than against Slenes.

Lively and four helpers combined in the shutout when Cleveland won the second day in a row against the pirates. It was the fourth end of the guards of the season.

LIVELY worked 5⅓ Innerings and beat three. He gave up four goals and a walk.

Slenes went seven innings, hit four and gave up six goals and a walk. However, a double from Schneeman and a Homerun by Manzardo led him to deserve two runs.

The guards scored their first run of Skenes in the third inning. Snowman doubled to start the rally and switched to third place with a groundout. Steven Kwan followed with an RBI single to the right and Cleveland led 1-0.

With Lively Shutting Down the Pirates, The Score Remained 1-0 Until the Seventh When Manzardo Drilled Sken '86th Pitch, which was down and in. Manzardo Drove the Park to Right and Into the Allegheny River, the 82nd Home Run to End Up The River Sine Ballpark Open in 2001. He Became the first cleveland player to splash a home run into the river and the 51st differ player to achieve that feat.

It was Manzardo's fifth Homer this season. Four of his Homer came onto the street.

The guards added a third run against the Pirates Bullpen in eighth place in a victim fly by José Ramírez.

Lively retired eight direct battery in sixth place. He only went a blow in the sixth. But this walk to Onileil Cruz to start the inning started a Pittsburgh threat. Bryan Reynolds followed with a single and took first and third place without outs.

Live and excluded Ke'bryan Hayes to bring him to a 3-2 place for the first time. This was ended by Lively's Day when Cade Smith entered the Guardians Bullpen.

Smith went with the first blow to which he was exposed to, Enmanuel Valdez, the bases before he brought Tommy Pham to Schneemann for the second time to start a double game at the end of the inn.

After Smith had achieved a one-out double in the seventh, Tim Mistress made him easier. Mistress climbed out of the seventh before making Hunter Gaddis in eighth place with one and nobody. Gaddis got the last two outs of the eighth.

Cleveland handed over the game in the ninth to narrower Emmanuel Clase. Valdez immediately welcomed him with a double that he tried to extend into a triple. However, he was injured in the piece and pulled his hand out of his pocket to call Timeout, and Ramírez marked him out before Valdez could bring his hand back on the base.

After a video check, the call was and Valdez was attributed to a double.

Clase then recorded the last two outs to save his second game in so many days.
