President Donald Trump claims that China had “totally reset” after his aggressive tariffs fueled a trade war with the second largest economy in the world.

The two countries have high -ranking conversations this weekend after they were over the tariffs for weeks in loggerheads.

“A very good meeting today with China in Switzerland. Many discussed things that have agreed a lot. A total reset that was negotiated in a friendly but constructive way,” Trump posted on Saturday evening about the social evening of truth. “We want to open China for the benefit of China and the USA for American business. Made great progress !!!”

Although the negotiations have not yet made a handout of the negotiations from both countries, China's state news agency Xinhua described the meetings on Saturday as “an important step towards implementing the dispute”.

The meeting on Saturday lasted at least eight hours Wall Street JournalBut a deal was not announced. The talks will be resumed on Sunday.

Trump has imposed 145 percent of Chinese goods, while China set 125 percent tariffs for US products with enormous consequences for both countries. China delivers a huge amount of electronics, toys, textiles and furniture to the United States, while it buys grains and oil seeds from American farmers as well as oil and gas.

In the past few days, however, Trump has indicated that he could lower the tariffs to avert the heat between the two nations.

The President proposed on Friday to reduce the tariffs to 80 percent.

Minister of Commerce Howard Lutnick said on Friday that Trump could even settle almost 34 percent in an interview with Fox News, as the President was announced on April 2.
