Emotional video shows Elefermann's struggle to save her calf after gericous accident

Kuala Lumpur, 11th Mai-a heartbreaking scene developed on video in Perak as a female elephant this morning, desperately tried to push a truck after her calf, from which it was assumed that he was killed by the heavy vehicle.

The incident took place on the Gerik-Jeli East-West Highway (JRTB) and moved social media users from the unshakable determination of the mother to protect her child.

The heartbreaking video, which only lasted a few minutes and 11 seconds, became viral and used the viewers when they watched how the mother's elephant refused to leave the place of the incident and apparently tried to save their calf.

It is assumed that the accident occurred around 2 a.m. and a truck with chickens and a baby elephants brought with it, which was found under the front of the vehicle.

Yusoff Shariff, director of the Perak Wildlife and National Parks department (Perhilitan), confirmed that they became aware of the incident around 3:30 a.m.

The department quickly transferred the mother elephants to a safer area to enable the removal of their deceased veal.

“When we arrived, we found that a five -year -old male elephant had died after he had been hit by the truck when he tried to cross the street.

“Our team was sent to the scene to carry out operations, monitor the situation and safely move the mother elephants to a safer area,” he explained Sinar Harian.

He also explained that the mother's elephant, who was an estimated between 25 and 27 years old and weighed around 2.2 tons, was successfully moved.

The body of the calf was later removed and is disposed of by funeral in accordance with standard procedures.

In the meantime, the police chief of Gerik, superintendent Zulkifli Mahmood confirmed that an explanation of the accident would be published shortly.
