Lexington, Ky. (May 9, 2025) – Today and tomorrow the University of Kentucky celebrates its latest alumni at the opening ceremonies from May 2025.

It is expected that more than 4,200 graduates will take place in four ceremonies that take place on May 9th and 10th in the Rupp Arena in the Central Bank Center. A total of 5,778 May candidates were granted by the British board of trustees. This includes 3,653 Bachelor, 1,439 graduates and 686 specialist candidates for May 2025.*

The ceremonies include:

9 a.m. Friday, May 9th

2 p.m. Friday, May 9th

6 p.m. Friday, May 9th

9 a.m. Saturday, May 10th

All four ceremonies are solved on the British YouTube channel in Great Britain, which will be accessible this weekend via the British opening website and on Unek.

The British alumni association organizes receptions for the graduates and their families in Club C of the Rupp Arena lower. After the graduates have crossed the stage, they are encouraged to get together with their families and enjoy free refreshments, photo opportunities, gifts and prices. British President Eli Capilouto will be given comments at every ceremony, followed by a speech by a student representative in the May 2025 class.

The four speakers include:

  • Julianna Bigden from Richmond, Kentucky, completed a Bachelor's degree in music training at the British College of Fine Arts. She will indicate the student address at the ceremony on 9 a.m., Friday, May 9th.
  • Ethan Morgan from Fairdealing, Kentucky, in Marshall County, completed the Bachelor's degree in biology at the British College of Arts and Sciences. He is also a member of the Lewis Honors College. He will state the student address on Friday, May 9, at 2 p.m. on May 9th.
  • Nigel Taylor from Malden, Massachusetts, completed a doctoral student in communication at the British college for communication and information. He will appeal to the student address on Friday, May 9, at 6 p.m., at May 18.
  • Typer Chapman from Ekron, Kentucky in Meade County, closed a master in public administration of the UK Martin School of Public Policy and Administration. He will give the student address at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 10th.

During every ceremony, the university will continue its tradition to present in Memoriam Degrees to honor the memory of died students and the effects of their time in Great Britain. With the approval of the family, two are announced and accepted in memoriam conclusions on behalf of their families and relatives.
