3 workers killed, 2 others injure themselves when the scaffolding is broken up at the massive location

Port Arthur, Texas (Gray News) – Three construction workers are dead and two are injured in Texas after an industrial accident.

Officials say that shortly before Tuesday 2 a.m., scaffolding gave in and two employees died in a location of Port Arthur LNG in the construction of the South Gulfway Drive.

A third worker who also fell later died in the hospital.

KBMT reports that Bechtel Global Corporation, the building contractor at the location, has confirmed that an incident with a “tank jumping form took place”, which led to death and injuries.

Two other workers who were on the scaffold did not fall and did not suffer life -threatening injuries.

According to the authorities, the professional and health administration examines.

There was no immediate word about what caused the breakdown.

The reported collapse occurred in the plant construction site and triggered immediate work in the massive industrial building project.

The Port Arthur LNG project is located in Phase 1, a joint venture between Sempra infrastructure and conocophillips, reports KFDM.

Officials said that the building contractor Bechtel had suspended work on site during the examination.
