Astros' Lance McCullers Jr.

A two-time World Series champion has received murder threats from his own fans.

The Houston Pitcher Lance McCullers Jr., who was in the World Series winner of Astros 2022 and 2017, said that after his hard start on Saturday evening, he received online death threats.

McCullers allowed seven runs, all of which were earned in just one third of an inning in Houston 13: 9 home loss.

It was only the second start since game 3 of the 2022 World Series for McCullers, who had numerous injuries that kept him away from the field in the past seasons.

But some crazy Astros fans didn't want to give him a groom.

After the loss, McCullers said that he had received the threats on social media.

“I understand that people are very passionate and love people who love Astros and love sports, but it is a bit difficult to find my children and murder them,” said the 31-year-old right-handed. “Just like a father I think that many, many threats to do over the years, and I think that one or two people from other topics about baseball actually had to go into prison to find things like that.

The Astros said the Houston police and MLB security were made aware of the threats.

McCullers and his wife Kara have two young daughters.

The Astros manager Joe Espada was visibly upset about the threats for McCuller's family and added that there were also threats in the life of his pitcher.

“There are people who threaten his life and life of his children because of his performance,” said Espada. “It is very unfortunate that we have to deal with it. After all, he did the fact for his team, the fact that we have to talk about it in my office – I also have children and it really drives me crazy that we have to deal with it. Very sad, very, very sad.”

McCullers, who started his career at the Astros in 2015, said that the death threats were difficult to use and make it even more difficult to regain its shape on the hill.

“If you fail, you fail on a very large stage (with) many eyes and there is nowhere to hide,” said McCullers, who has a 49-32 record with an ERA of 3.46 ERA in his eight seasons. “At the end of the day I just want to do my job. I just want to be a good pitcher for the astros and I think I will arrive there, but as I said, I just think that I have to worry about leaving the city and leaving the city and leaving it at school or giving it up at school, I just think there should be a kind of decency.”
