Doc Rivers reveals Damian Lillard's courageous reaction to the injury to the end of the season

The Milwaukee Bucks Last weekend at the beginning of their game 4 against the Indiana Pacers were hit with a serious injury. Damian LillardThe 10-time NBA All-Star stormed in the first quarter and had to leave the game.

Soon afterwards it was confirmed that Lillard had suffered a left -wing Achilles tendon tear and that he was excluded from the rest of the season. The 34-year-old guard was clearly in pain when he left the court on Sunday, and the severity of his injury triggered concern about his future in the game.

In conversation with reporters on Tuesday before game 5, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers Unprinted that Lillard was not yet ready to call it a day.

“He said two things I love,” said Rivers. “The first, he just said”I can't believe I'm here. 'Then the second' ''I don't go out like that.“I can guarantee that he will not be, and I meant that about his determination.”

“It's amazing,” added Rivers. “He is already talking about his return and is better and ready. We also had a long conversation about it today.”

This is not the first concern of the injury that Lillard has hit in the past few months. At the beginning of this month he came back from one deep venous thrombosis in his right calfreturn to the Court within a few weeks.

Although he will not be there for the rest of this year's playoffs, there is no reason to assume that Lillard will not continue to be a heart for the goats for the future. Lillard ranks throughout the NBA this season Tenths for the evaluation (24.9) and assists (7.1).

The Bucks will hope to continue their playoff run in its absence, but fans will be frustrated to have suffered a serious post -season injury for a fourth season in a row.

In 2022 forced a knee injury Khris Middleton to miss the entire defeat against the Seven-Game Easters Conference against the Boston Celtics. Both in 2023 and 2024 injuries Giannis Antetokounmpo meant that the superstar missed essential parts of the post -season.
