The Australian Cricket Community mourns the death of dough and Ashes hero Bob Cowper | Cricket Australia

The Australian Cricket mourns the loss of Bob Cowper, whose three-time century remains one of the most worshiped Ashes in.

Cowper died this weekend at the age of 84.

The Victorian played 27 tests for Australia between 1964 and 1968 and retired at the age of 28 to pursue a productive career in financing.

The left -hander achieved runs in 2061, with the highlight of his knocking of 307, which spanned 12 hours in McG in 1966.

Cowper's feat in the MCG made him the first Australian dough to achieve a three -time century against England in Australia.

He remained the only Australian to produce a triple century at home until Matthew Haydens 380 against Zimbabwe in 2003 against Zimbabwe.

Cowper played a largely unannounced role in the World Series Cricket and helped carry out the Breakaway competition that professionalized the sport.

He then became a multimillionaire based in Monaco while working in stock market broken and banking.

During his game days, Cowper received the nickname “Wallaby”, an allusion to his father – and the former Wallabies captain – Dave Cowper.

Rip Bob Cowper … good man … lived like an amateur … like a professional played 👏👏👏👏
