Mizzous Bates shines on the first day of the NBA G League Elite Camp; The Buzz, Sunday, May 11th,

Former Missouri Tigers Guard Tamar Bates scored a game high of 19 points in game 1 of the NBA G League Elite Camp on Saturday. He made 8 of his 13 attempts from the field while scored three rebounds and created three assists.

The Bates team hit his former team -mate Caleb Grill, who scored nine points, scored four rebounds and also created an assist.

Bates' team won the game 89-85. Both former tigers played over 20 minutes ahead of NBA and G league scouts and managers.

The G League Elite Camp in Chicago enables NBA Draft Prospections to make an invitation to the NBA Draft Combine that will take place in Chicago next week. The G League Elite Camp ends tomorrow, with Bates' Team 1 Team 4 playing, in which Arizonas Caleb Love and Andrew Carr from Kentucky can be seen.

In the meantime, Team 2 from Grill will compete against Team 3, which will be led by Will Richard and Auburns Dylan Caldwell.

With the preliminary draft process, Bates hopes to earn his opportunity with the same skills that have made him successful in college.

“I take an offensive end and try to be extremely annoying at the defensive end,” said Bates in an interview with the NBA G League X account. “I just want to continue building what I have always done.
