Jeff Molina tells everything about his side of the greatest betting scandal in UFC history

The failure of the UFC competition scandal 2022 is still through the world of martial arts.

Jeff Molina and Darrick Minnerin were the two UFC fighters who were most associated with the allegations against James Krause in terms of irregular betting activities -both Molina and Mährer, who were trained under Krauses Glory Kickboxing & Fitness Banner and Krause used as head coach. The mixer became the goal of the controversy when the betting lines drastically changed the day of his fight against Shayilan Nuerdanbieke in 2022. The mother lost in 67 seconds and was then suspended because he had not disclosed a torn ACL.

The 27-year-old Molina spoke for the first time in the edition of “The Ariel Helwani Show” on Tuesday and broke through the Saga, which led to the former UFC fly weight candidate received a three-year suspension from the Nevada Athletic Commission for the task of a laundry on the mountain combat.

Molina remembered leaving his job at T-Mobile after his successful UFC debut victory in 2021, which for the first time bet on MMA. He said it began to join a chat of four to five people who was led by Krause and was finally developed into a popular Discord server. Molina insisted that he never bet on his own fights, but thinks that he was exposed to UFC excursion in the second year. However, he sometimes put on the fights of the teammates and even against them, as he ultimately did with Minner.

“You are only paid if you fight, right?” Said Molina. “And many fighters do this, but the UFC – obviously we have no insurance – will cover everything [a fighter has injured] Aftermath. For this reason, so many fighters are injured. I've never been healthy in a fight. Then it's a joke among the fighters that they ask you about the fight: “Hey, what hurts?” And they say: “Head, shoulders, knees and toes. Everything hurts. 'Even Dr. [Jeffrey] Davidson with the UFC, he will joke about it: “Oh yes, that hurts?” Knowing that this is not the case, but we will have it checked.

“When I know the attitude of Miner that he would go through the fight at some point, I knew that it would be a guy with a kill-or-be-forbidden,” continued Molina.

“It was not a crazy money. It was nothing outside of the ordinary that I didn't already do with any previous event. I had money for the rest of the card, probably 2,000 US dollars for bets on this card. And two weeks before this event, it was perfectly fine, it was perfectly fine, it was fine to be completely okay. [and legal] bet. Then we got an e -mail like: “Hey, UFC athlete are no longer allowed to bet.” And I made the mistake to say: »Hey, that's an e -mail. How serious are these guys? How serious is that? 'This is a way that I also make money on the side. It turned out that they were very serious. “

Molina said he bet $ 350 on the mix to lose the fight and learned about the injury three weeks earlier when he heard scream in the gym after his injury in the gym. Molina said he did not know whether Minner would still compete, and he does not believe that his teammate was planned to fight night to lose.

With regard to the massive wet line shift against the miner in the eleventh hour, Molina believes that she had to come from humans -or a person -within the glory fitness studio that the Minnern injury and exchanges.

“Obviously what followed, and even the betting line went crazy and disproportionate so that it looks like something incomplete was going to go, and that led to my suspension,” said Molina. “I think a line is manipulated so much – such as millions and millions and millions of dollars would have to come in to change a line. This is the only explanation that I can imagine how a line would move so drastically.

“If the line never moves, nothing would have come out of it. The fighters still actively build on fights. They tweet it all the time. I have damn myself. I should have stopped when the UFC said stop.

Mährer's suspension expired last March, but Molina is still waiting for his own suspension on November 5, 2025. Molina said UFC official made it clear that he would not be able to compete in the performance. He asked for his release and announced his signing at BKFC on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Krause remains examined and is essentially banished from sport. You cannot be able to coach fighters who are contractual by the UFC. Molina confirmed that Krause has moved his focus on the real estate business, the Krause began in front of the scandal and when he was an active UFC fighter.

Molina claimed that Krause would never talk about Glory athletes in the group's private channels when they fought. He believes that Krause probably gives his own fighters, although he should never lose.

Ultimately, Molina still doesn't know how the commissions have found that he bet on the struggles of the masker.

“When you know James Krause, he is a damn good trainer, man,” said Molina. “That is what is all of this. His legacy has been clouded forever, but ask every fighter who was trained under James.

“It started to earn just a few more $ 100 a month, which helped for a man who did not work a job and trained full -time.”
