Houston Astros, Lance McCullers Jr., said that he and his family had received murder threats after the 13: 9 defeat on Saturday against the Cincinnati Reds.

In his second start to the season, McCullers recorded one in the 1st Inning against the Reds. He allowed seven deserved runs during Cincinnatis 10-Run-Ining.

“It was a hard evening. I understand that people are very passionate and people love Astros and have sport, but as a father, I think, threatens to find my children and murder them, it is a bit difficult to deal with it,” McCuller's reporters told reporters. “There have been many, many threats over the years that are mostly aimed at me … but I think to bring children into the equation, threaten to find them, or if they see us in public in public, they will be difficult to hear my children as a father.”

“It is very unfortunate that Lance McCuller's people who threaten his life and life of his children because of his performance,” said Astros manager Joe Espada. “It is very unfortunate that we have to deal with it. After everything he did for this city, for this team that we have to talk about … I also have children. And it really drives me crazy that we have to deal with it. Very, very, very sad.”

The Astros announced reporters that they informed the Houston police department and the Major League Baseball security about the threats.
