Israeli hostages ask for a rescue in New Hamas Propaganda Video

Hamas published a video on Saturday, in which two Israeli hostages, Elkana Bohbot and Yosef-Haim Ohana, released in Gaza since the attacks on October 7, 2023. The film material, which was written and recorded under compulsion, shows that Bohbot was visibly frail under a ceiling, while Ohana delivers a plea in Hebrew for the Israeli government to end the war and to secure the publication of the prisoners.

The video published on the Hamas telegram channel and approved by the families of the hostages, after the two were kidnapped by the Nova Music Festival during the fatal attack. According to Israeli authorities, there are still 59 hostages in the Gaza, and 24 will probably be alive, although the status of three is still unclear.

The 24-year-old Ohana claims in the video that the 36-year-old Bohbot sharpens himself and deteriorates mentally and physically. “Our fate is in her hands,” he says, addressing the Israeli guide. “Your hands are colored with blood. It is time to stop this war. Time is running out.”

Hamas ended the clip with the message: “Only a ceasefire contract brings them back alive.”

Bohbot, a Colombian Israeli with asthma, has reportedly developed a severe skin condition while being kept in a narrow Gaza tunnel. His family said he had not received any medical treatment. Ohana, a former IDF doctor, was captured while he helped the wounded at the festival.

In response to this, the Bohbot family said: “While all people in Israel hear their calls, a handful of decision -makers refuse to listen. The fact that they still have a shame.”
