Bay Watch Boat Ramp in Baldwin County to make improvements

Baldwin County, Ala. (Wala) – The Ministry of Nature Conservation and Natural Resources in Alabama will temporarily close the Bay Watch Boat Ramp facility in Baldwin County to improve the visitor parking lot and access to the boat ramp.

The boat ramp is located next to the US 98 bridge at the mouth of the Fish River.

The closure should begin on May 5th.

The parking lot is paved and parking for visitors, boats, trailers and boats is marked. Disabled parking spaces are also added, officials said.

Public access to the location, including the boat ramp, the Kayak start and the ADCNR State Lands Division Weeks Bay Resource Center, is not permitted throughout the renovation process.

According to civil servants, the work is expected to be completed by the beginning of August.

The start of the perspective at the southern end of the Baldwin County Road 1 will remain open for local access to Fish River, Mobile Bay and Bon Secour Bay, the officials said.
