RCB captain Rajat Patidar recovers from a finger injury

Rajat Patidar, the captain of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), is currently recovering from a finger injury that would have excluded him for at least two games if IPL 2025 had not been temporarily suspended due to cross -border tensions between India and Pakistan.

The tournament's temporary break gave him at least a week to recover without Matches being missing.

Patid suffered the injury on May 3 during the RCB home game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) when he fell against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) during the RCB home game. He was recommended to wear a rail to protect his finger and protect against the injury at least 10 days before training.

RCB is careful with the recovery of patidar and takes into account its availability for the IPL playoffs and its possible selection for the upcoming India A tour through England. The squad for the tour is expected to be announced in the coming days.

On Saturday, Patidar returned to Bengaluru with the rest of the RCB squad from Lucknow to Bengaluru. Despite the setback, he was optimistic to play the rest of the IPL season if he was resumed in the next week after announcing the ceasefire between India and Pakistan on Saturday evening.

After patida was injured, Jitesh Sharma was presented against RCB against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Friday, before the BCCI suspended the IPL for a week on May 8th.

“I was very grateful for the opportunity to give me,” said Jitesh on RCB Bold Diaries. “They gave me the opportunity for captain RCB and it is a very big deal for me and my family. I thought about what would be the right combination because both Devdutt [Padikkal] And Rajat was not available and it was a great responsibility to replace it.

“And according to the position we were on the point table, we would have won this game. All of this was in my head and all meetings with coaches and players in these two to three days, stroke order, discussions with bowlers. I had a lot of fun.”

Patidar's injury is one of several RCB that were suspended before the IPL. Opening dough Phil Salt was under illness and was replaced by Jacob Bethell in the XI. Padikkal was excluded from the season with a thigh injury and replaced by Mayan's Agarwal in the squad. And Josh Hazlewood had suffered a shoulder injury.

All players and coaching teams from RCB India left until Sunday, but were asked to stay in standby to return if the tournament restarted.

RCB was in second place with eight wins and three defeats from 11 games on the point table when the IPL was interrupted. Her remaining three games are an away game against LSG, and the home games against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), but these venues could change, depending on how the IPL recovers the schedule for the rest of the season.
