Cypress, TX crash: Cypress North Houston Road, Creek Forest Drive

Harris County – – A woman died in the cypress area after a rollover crash, according to Harris County's authorities.

What we know:

The crash was reported shortly after 3 p.m. in the 14100 block of the Cypress North Houston Road near the Cypress Creek Forest Drive.

According to the County Sergeant Turman, a Mercedes Suv drove to the west in the North Houston Road when he took off the street and fell into a ditch.

The vehicle then rolled over at least once before fell against a backyard fence.

Officials say that the driver, a woman in the forties, was declared dead at the scene. She was the only person in the vehicle and no other injuries were reported.

The vehicle hit a power box and caused a partial power failure in the neighborhood. Centerpoint Energy was mentioned and the power supply is expected to be restored this evening.

What we don't know:

There is no information about the cause of the crash or the identity of the driver.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez found that the crash caused a short fire after a gas grill was hit. These details were not confirmed by local officials.
