Wastewater leak in houses in Lacy Lakeview, Texas, due to the broken sewage line

LACY LAKEVIEW, TEXAS (KWTX) – Wastewater entered several houses in Woodall Street on Friday after the sewage line that the road has spread.

Daniel Walling in Lacy Lakeview discovered the wastewater and examined a noise from his bathroom.

“I ran down the hallway to find out what it was and I weakened by raw wastewater in the middle of my house,” said Walling.

He said the water broke through the toilet and had come in the shower to spread out in five rooms in the house.

“The upholstery only soaked it,” said Walling.

LACY LAKEVIEW City Manager Calvin Hodde said that the waste water was entered in the houses of the people due to a broken sewage pipe.

“We had about four to five centimeters rain in a very short time last Thursday and they have a lot of rainwater in the sewage system,” said Hodde. “With this event, the sewage system was simply unable to keep up with so much recording.”

Hodde confirmed four houses that had wastewater flood. He said that contractors are working on repairing the broken line as soon as possible.

Hodde expects it to take 4-6 weeks for the building contractor to replace its 75-year-old sewage system.

The Wallings family built their house in Lacy Lakeview 60 years ago.
