Miami LineBacker Adarius Hayes was injured in a collision in which two children were killed in his hometown Largo, Florida on Saturday.

A spokesman for the Largo Police Department announced ESPN that Jabari Elijah Solomon (10) and Charlie Herbert Solomon Riveria (4) were killed when a Kia soul turned left and collided with a Dodge Durango. It is not believed that alcohol and drugs were a factor in the crash. The spokesman did not say whether Hayes was a vehicle or whether he was related to the children.

“This is an ongoing and active examination, and no further information on publication is currently available,” said the spokesman in an explanation.

The 20-year-old Hayes was one of the best linebackers in the country who came from the high school and chose Miami after receiving offers from schools such as Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame and the state of Ohio.
