Line backers of the University of Miami, which is involved in the car accident, in which 2 children were killed

Adarius Hayes, a line backer from the University of Miami, was involved in a fatal crash, in which a 10-year-old and 4-year-old killed in Hayes' hometown Largo, Florida.

The crash occurred on Saturday at 1:45 p.m. when a Dodge Durango collided with a Kia soul, while the soul made a left curve, according to the Largo Police Department. A police spokeswoman confirmed NBC News that Hayes was involved in the crash.

Two children's die 10-year-old Jabari Elijah Solomon and 4-year-old Charlie Herbert Solomon Riveria-Wurden killed in the crash.

The police said several others were taken to the hospital with “serious” injuries. According to the police, alcohol was not a factor for the crash.

“This is an ongoing and active examination, and no further information on publication is currently available,” said the police.

Hayes was also injured in the accident, NBC South Florida reported on Sunday.

Representatives of the Miami University Athletics Department did not immediately respond to an investigation into the state of Hayes. The spring semester of the University of Miami ended on Wednesday after the last day of the final exams.

Hayes played as a newcomer for the university in 12 games last year and was described as a “key factor” in special teams on his team profile page. He had four duels and intercept in the first season as a newcomer to the team.
