Atlanta Interviews Exec was fired for scandal 11 years ago

The Atlanta Hawks are still looking for a president of basketball operations to work with the new General Manager Onsi Saleh, and you have already carried out some interviews. One of her latest interviews is a familiar name for the Hawks, Danny Ferry, who once held the position for the team.

“Ferry's resumption as a candidate for Lead Front Office Post in Atlanta comes from the same post for a decade after its distance,” wrote the stone line. “In June 2014, Ferry read from a report that was submitted by a non-identified scout in a team conference that contained racist insensitive comments on the former NBA All-Star Luol Deng and resigned a year later.

“Ferry returned to the NBA as a special consultant in New Orleans and joined the 2016-17 season and ended the 2018-19 season as an intermediate GM of the Pelicans after the dismissal of Dell Demps.

Ferry helped to win 60 games in one season when the team was built, which helped the HAWKS and to get to the Eastern Conference final in 2015. Although Ferry has the opportunity to build a stable team, he can lead to not giving many options, especially with the Hawks.

The Hawks have conducted further interviews when they spoke to Calvin Booth and Monte McNair. However, both were released from their positions this season, but showed the ability to build winning teams in the past. Elton Brand was a candidate for the job, but recently pulled his name from the list to stay with the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Hawks fired Landry Fields at the end of the season and promoted Saleh to General Manager when the team wants to build a season in which they missed the playoffs again. On the bright side you have a core of players who will be something special together in the coming years and could belong to one of the top teams of the Eastern Conference.
