The Bakersfield police investigate a fatal crash that has injured a dead man and two

The Bakersfield Police Department (BPD) announced that they will examine a fatal crash in which a man was injured in Southeast Bakersfield on Saturday evening.

The officials responded to a report on a traffic collision at the intersection of Hughes LN. and Holden Wy. Around 8:50 p.m. on May 10, 2025.

When they arrived, the officials found a fallen SUV with a man under the vehicle. He was declared dead at the crime scene.

Another man who was a passenger of the SUV suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver of the second vehicle involved, also a man, was taken to a separate local hospital. He had moderate injuries.

A preliminary investigation showed that the SUV drove south on Hughes LN. And tried one to turn east to Holden Wy.

During the curve, the SUV entered Hughes ln. And this led to a wide collision, which means that the front of a vehicle hit the side of another. The influence caused the SUV to overturn.

The BPD said that the speed seems to be no factor in the crash at that time. Possible drug or alcohol participation are examined until toxicology reports.

The examination continues. Everyone is asked to call BPD at (661) 327-7111.
