Astros' Lance McCullers Jr. says angered Afans who instruct the death threats to him and his children

The Houston Astros Pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. says that after the loss on Saturday he will receive murder threats against the Cincinnati Reds, which are based both and on his children.

McCullers, who says that he was a goal of harassment by baseball fans after he had admitted seven runs during a first first inn, told reporters after the game that people had sent him threats about his performance, some implied that they would try to harm his two young daughters.

“I understand that people are very passionate and love people who love astros and love sports, but threatens to find my children and murder them, is a bit difficult to deal with the father,” I think, “said McCullers.

McCullers, 31, had recently returned to the field for his second major League start after missing the last two MLB season to recover from injuries in his pitching arm.

The 13: 9 defeat on Saturday in the Daikin Park of Houston was his second MLB game and the first home game of 2025, which marked his return after the last pitching at game 3 of the World Series 2022.

“There have been many, many threats over the years that were mostly aimed at me,” said McCullers. “But I think to bring children into the equation – threatens to find them, or if they see us next time in public, they will sting my children to death, such things – are difficult to hear as a father.”

At a press conference after the game on Saturday evening, astros manager Joe Espada expressed his frustration with death threats and found that he was “really upset” from you.

“It is very unfortunate that we have to deal with it,” said Espada emphatically. “After everything he did for this city, the fact that we have to talk about it in my office – I also have children, and it really drives me that we have to deal with it. Very sad. Very, very sad.”

Espada added that McCullers had no longer accepted in two and a half years and that the fans should remember that he may need some time to adapt.

“Come on, we're better than that,” he said. “We are better than that.”
