“Sales of children's psyche to the highest bidder”: Anambra closes the school because of prefects election scandal

The government of the state of Anambra has imposed the flower Fount School in Awka a one -month suspension because it supposedly sold the position of the head prefect during a school election.

This information was passed on on Saturday in a declaration by the Commissioner of Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Noudeh.

According to the commissioner, the school reported to N5,000 from every student who is headed by head in the main department. Chuma-Noudeh condemned this action and described it as an attempt to “sell the children's psyche to the highest bidder from the cradle”.

She emphasized that such practices under the administration of governor Chukwuma Soludo are unacceptable.

In addition, she mentioned that an examination is currently underway to examine the school's wider management practices with the possibility of further measures based on the results.
