WCSO examines the death of the inmate in the Walton County prison

Walton County, Fla – an inmate is no longer responded in his cell in his cell in the Walton County prison early Sunday morning.

Jessie Raby was held for Holmes County after he was charged with murder on his mother and brother in 2024.

During the restriction, security checks were carried out every 30 minutes.

The last security check before Raby was found to be not appealing, was 0545 hours on Sunday. Raby was seen and was observed how she acted normally.

When breakfast was served 15 minutes later, Raby was watched on the floor on the back.

Security protocols were followed and a team entered the cell. It was found that Raby needed medical care and entered and provided a nurse. The nurse found foreign objects that blocked Rady's airway, and removed a cloth, a sock and a toilet paper from his airways.

The CPR started and when Ems arrived, it took over Raby's care. Ems declared his death by 0637 hours.

The entire incident was recorded on surveillance cameras.

District 1 medical examiner was contacted and answered. Raby's family was notified.

This case is an autopsy, but at that time his death seems to be a result of his own actions.
