A Septa driver was in a critical condition and four other people were hospitalized after a high -speed train in Norristown had fallen in Montgomery County on Sunday morning, officers said.

The incident occurred around 9:45 a.m. when an NHSL train collided a car in a safety bump in the Norristown Transportation Center, said the septa spokeswoman Andrew Busch of the line.

Busch said that the operator and four passengers were injured and brought to the local medical centers. A driver suffered head injuries and was flown to Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, he added.

The cause of the crash remains examined, although Busch said that the vehicle was at low speed than it approached the end of the line.

The National Transportation Safety Board has started an examination of the crash. The federal investigators are expected to arrive on Sunday evening, the Metro agency said.

The NHSL is known as “M” under septa's recently newly organized U -Bahn system and drives from the 69th Street Transportation Center to Norristown. The service was back in operation on Sunday afternoon with minor delays.
