Braun Levi death: hundreds gather to celebrate the life of the teenager

Pico Union, Los Angeles (KABC) – A community in Manhattan Beach is fighting to cope with the loss of a beloved teenager who was killed by a suspected drunk driver.

Hundreds gathered on the beach on Saturday morning to honor Braun Levi's 18-year-old. Afterwards, the Loyola High School took place on Saturday evening. The event was full, with more people being present than chairs in which they could sit.

Braun will be remembered as someone who was a friend to everyone and was fun without interruption. Family members said that Braun was practically all friends at the Loyola High School until the end of his first month at school.

“At the end of his first year, a tennis all-star, he showed us at the end of every day how deeply loving, effortlessly and fearlessly a person could be bigger than life,” said Father Billy Biegler.

“He was happy every day, the child was never sad, he was nice every day,” said his father Dan Levi.

Last weekend, the high -ranking tennis star of the high school was crossed by a suspected drunk driver when he went along the Sepulveda Boulevard in Manhattan Beach.

On Saturday morning, not far from there, hundreds of people got into the water and took part in a “paddle” in his memory.

“I want people to live like brown – and that means to enjoy every day, to be curious, to take advantage of it every day, to smile, to laugh, to live in the fullest,” said one participant. “He was always curious and friendly to other people.”

Braun was away from the end for weeks and planned to visit college in Virginia in autumn.

“It breaks my heart that Uva cannot experience its light. I can't tell you how often he called me and said: 'Adelle, I'm so excited for college',” said his sister Adelle Levi at the event.

His family is now asking for support while trying to rebuild their life without him.

“We need you to get through that. Thank you for being here and don't forget us. This will be a long journey for us to recover,” said his father.

The 33 -year -old Jenia Resha Belt was arrested after the crash. It is held against a deposit of 500,000 US dollars.

At the time of the crash, Belt drove with a suspended driver's license, and records show that her driver's license was exposed to drunk driving due to an earlier arrest.
