Los Angeles Dodgers share troubling injury update for Closers Ellbogen

The Los Angeles Dodgers will be expected longer than initially. The right -handed Evan Phillips, who was described on the injured list of which was first described as a minor discomfort last week, is now expected, according to Manager Dave Roberts, that he will fail for “a few weeks” without throwing without throwing.

An MRI resulted in inflammation in Phillips' elbows, but no structural damage – a relief, although the situation has become more serious than the team originally believed.

“Yes, I think it is just to be honest,” admitted Roberts when he was asked whether the injury was worse than expected. “You go from potentially pitching to say that night that I just can't break up to go to the IL. But … am I concerned about it? No.”

Phillips was initially predicted that he should return as soon as he could be considered, but this timeline has now been pushed back. Roberts emphasized the long -term priorities of the club when managing the recent recovering of the helper.

“It is an inflammation in his elbow, so it will only take a few time,” said Roberts. “We will take some time with Evan, because as we said from the start, it will be so valuable in the future that we have to be careful and careful with the structure.”

With Phillips, the Dodgers do not occupy an integral part of their bullpen, especially since the season progresses in the stretch run and ideally until October. Last season, Phillips achieved a 3.62 ERA with 63 strikeouts and 17 walks over 54.2 Inning and established himself as one of the most reliable helpers in the team.

Before his injury this season, Phillips had to allow a run through 5.2 innings to meet six and run two.

The news comes that the Dodgers continue to navigate in a competitive National League West. Roberts recently admitted that, unlike earlier seasons, he did not expect Los Angeles to run away with the division crown. This makes Phillips' absence – and ultimately return – everything more important.
