Heavy thunderstorm for the majority of the north Utah

Salt Lake City (Kutv) – The National Weather Service has issued a heavy storm guard for a large part of the north Utah until 8 p.m.

The areas under the guard include Box Elder, Cache, Davis, Morgan, Rich, Salt Lake, Summit, Tooele, Utah, Wasatch and Weber Counties.

In the afternoon, several heavy thunderstorms for parts of Box Elder, Tooele, Cache, Davis, Salt Lake and Weber were exhibited. The forecasters reported that wind gusts reached up to 65 miles per hour in some areas.

While the measurement of up to three quarters of inches was observed, prognostic said that the main threat was still strong winds that could damage roofs, trees and power lines.

NWS has asked the residents to stay inside. Driver, especially those who, in top-class vehicles or near the Great Salzsee, make a particularly caution.
