New surface hardware, Windows 11 functions and Xbox -leaks

From new surface devices and fresh Windows 11 functions to a leaked Xbox handheld and another legal blow for Palworld, you will find everything Microsoft has made headlines this week.

Microsoft presented the 12-inch and surface laptop of Surface Pro and Surface Laptop this week. Both PCs have more compact constructions than their surface siblings, but are more than smaller computers.

The Surface Pro 12-inch is a fanless 2-in-1 PC, which is the spiritual successor to the Surface Pro X in many ways. From the front you will see a 90 Hz display. However, if you look off the side, you will see a device that is only 7.8 mm thick.

Both the Surface Pro 12-inch and the surface laptop 13-inch run from Snapdragon X Plus processors. In his Surface Pro 12-inch impression, our editor-in-chief of this chip was impressed.

We have to wait to see how the 12-inch Surface Pro 12-inch matches long-term tests and how the performance of the surface laptop differs from 13 inches, since this PC has a fan.

While the Surface Pro 12-inch and Surface laptop 13-inch laptop looks like promising devices, the announcement of Microsoft coincided with some frustrating messages. The Tech -Riese set up the sale of the 999 dollar versions of Surface Pro 11 and Surface Laptop 7.

The movement was probably made to make the Surface Pro 12-inch and the surface laptop 13-inch more appealing, but I found it disappointing.

In addition to the new Surface devices, Microsoft also announced a “new generation of Windows experiences”. Copilot+ PCs have a number of new functions on the way, as well as all Windows 11 devices, regardless of whether they are Copilot+ PCs.

If you have a Copilot+ PC, you will soon have an AI agent in Windows 11 with which you can find settings on your PC. Further actions are also on the way to click.

A new ASK Copilot campaign can act on a picture of your screen from the screen and design content in Microsoft Word.

Microsoft's Photos app, painting and snipping tool also get some love. The Photos app receives a religious function and color adds support for the object selection.

With an update to snipping tool, the app can automatically set a recording so that it adapts the content firmly.

File Explorer will also receive some AI campaigns in the future. Microsoft also improves Notepad with AI in the form of creating text from an input request.

Notepad also receives some formatting functions, which is a good bonus for those who do not appreciate AI or want a minimal notepading experience.

Xbox Handheld -Leck

Further details about the gaming handheld known as Project Kennan. This device is the result of a partnership between Asus and the Xbox team.

There are pictures within a US FCC Entering that show what apparently Project Kennan seems to be. The registration actually contains pictures of two devices, but one thing is probably the ASUS ROG Ally 2.

The black model shown above contains a dedicated Xbox button and a Xbox style button.

Asus's new gaming handheld is expected to perform Windows 11, although there could be some gaming-specific functions in the shop.

There is the possibility that we will learn more about the device at Computex on May 20, 2025.

Palworld

The makers of Palworld had to make a compromise due to the company's legal dispute with Nintendo. A patch for the game remove the ability to slide on buddies within Palworld.

Palworld has already lost the animations for catching and summoning friends, so it is nothing new for Palworld players.

Nintendo is notorious for his aggressive legal tactics, so I doubt that this is the last change we will see in Palworld. But hey, at least it is not affected.

Xbox reverse compatibility

A list of Microsoft suggests that the Xbox Backward compatibility program could return. This program started in 2015 and lasted until 2021.

Xbox reverse compatibility is viewed as a massive victory for the gaming community. In addition to older titles that can be played on new hardware, many of these games with technology such as FPS Boost and UpScaling have received a thrust.

Now it is possible to see the return of the popular program. The list on the Microsoft website is said:

We haven't heard much about the game keeping program from Microsoft since last year, so the news this week was exciting.
