The Lincoln exhibition emphasizes the art of women in Nebraska

Lincoln, alongside (Koln) – For centuries, the world world of art has been a space dominated by men with little opportunity for women to demonstrate their artistic talents. But art enthusiasts in Lincoln now have the opportunity to see a new exhibition with paintings this month that have been made exclusively by Nebraska women in the past 100 years.

Everything happens at the Lincoln Art Company in the 48th Street.

From grain silos and extensive grassland to sad clowns and chocolate bars, the artistic works of women in Nebraska have illustrated a wealth of perspectives in the last century.

Now about a dozen of these artists can show their creations in May.

One of them, Lindsey Eelling, said she had painted and drawn since she could get handicrafts in her hands.

“Painting calms me down as if I am stressed or feel something, it is a really good way to get out without words, what is going on here, because sometimes I can be some kind of word,” said Eelling.

Oselling said this was her first art show and she has two paintings, including her largest on canvas, which is referred to as “cravings”.

“I tried to do something exciting, to paint something, and I thought:” What would I want to see, “said Eelling.” And I have never seen anything like shelf and angel, like these old time paintings that grab a chocolate bar. “

The Lincoln Art Company said that the exhibition is also about taking insights into the past and giving the audience an idea of what was going on in the state since the early 20th century.

“There was no exhibition to show the scope of female artists in the state of Nebraska,” said Cole Sartore, owner and director of Lincoln Art Company Gallery. “You have a large number of work from you, especially because we had a university here for so long to create this culture that enables you to work for so many years of active artists, and I wanted to highlight that.”

The pieces were open to the public on Friday, but can still be seen online. You can also look at or create a painting by contacting the Lincoln Art Company.
