“I am very proud of your (police) efforts and that of our community, which in investigation and other matters increase several times to ensure that you tell us about things that you work with our members of the police department to solve crimes and prevent things,” said Zibolski.

In total there was a decline in crime in 2024 by 6.8%, including acceptance in every category. The crimes against people decreased by more than 6%, the crimes of property fell by more than 13%by more than 13%, as with drug crimes, as with drug crimes.

Zibolski observed the work of the new “real -time criminal center” of the department, the first of its kind in North Dakota, and said that the technology used in the center had already contributed to preventing potential crimes in large meetings of the community.

“Surveillance of large-scale events such as the street fair and the holiday parade … In many, many cases, we have intervened that the real-time criminal center has identified as potential problems or people sought,” said Zibolski. “We are able to head our officials on site and communicate with our civil servants and bring them to the areas where they could not see what was going on, and we were able to prevent many incidents at some of our larger events last year, and we will continue to do so.”

In some of the most serious categories for violent crime, however, the 2024 annual report shows that the number of cases has sometimes increased dramatically.

The murders rose by 200% compared to 2023 to six in 2024, but Zibolski said that this was more of a reflection on the rarely low number of only two murders in Fargo in 2023 and that the number of 2024 in this category in this category is closer to Fargo from Fargo. Zibolski added that all six murders had been deleted, which means that the accused murderers had been arrested in any case.

“All of these people were held accountable for these actions,” said Zibolski.

The rape cases rose by 37%compared to the previous year. 141 cases reported in 2024. Zibolski said that the increase was one for whom the department tried to determine a cause. He said 54% of the suspects in these cases are known to the police, but the annual report shows that only 22% of the cases were cleared.

“We have identified an ongoing problem with some of our legal language in which our prosecutors are put into a position in which they cannot invoice some (rape) on the basis of a part of the language in the law, which in my opinion does not correspond to best practice with regard to sexual assault,” he said.

Similarly, Zibolski found that domestic reinforced and domestic simple storm crimes decreased significantly, 43% or 27%, Fargo in 2024 had a domestic violence in connection with the murder in connection with violence and that the release rate continues to be under expectations.

“What attracts my attention, why are not all of them deleted by arrest? We know who the perpetrator is,” said Zibolski. “This goes into the question of the nuances of domestic violence examinations, and sometimes the victims do not want to pursue criminal law for various reasons, from income to relationships about it is simply difficult to do.”

The addition of a specialist for victim services to police staff last year, said Zibolski, had a major impact on the connection with these victims, which may have something to do with the decline in crime in this category.

“Let's see whether this is a trend or not, but their ability to refer people (the victim service specialist) to refer people to these resources and perhaps help them with law enforcement, in my opinion, I will pay dividends in the street,” he said. “It is always difficult, very similar to the sexual assault piece, only from the perspective of law enforcement, where you would think: 'Boy, all of these would be cleared and done.'”

Loading theft rose by 10%in 2024. Zibolski said it and theft was the highest volume of crimes in Fargo. According to Zibolski, the Fargo police will soon begin the quarterly shoplifting of Beat or the city of the city.

Overall, the car theory had dropped, but Zibolski found that several rental cars were recently stolen from Hector International Airport. Zibolski said the FBI took over the examination of these thefts.
