The family is looking for justice for men who were killed in hit-and-run while walking on the i-35

SAN ANTONIO -The family of a man who was killed in an incident is looking for justice almost a month later.

The 39 -year -old Casey Escobar was killed and killed by a driver at around 6 a.m. on April 19 in the morning, while he went south of the Interstate 35 near West Commerce Street.

His sister, Christy Almaras, said she was not sure why her brother went on a highway, but believed that it was to get to the house of a family friend.

“Nobody deserves to leave this world as he did, alone on the roadside, as if his life didn't matter,” said Almaras.

According to the authorities, Escobar went in a slightly lit area on the highway when an unknown vehicle that drove south on the I-35 hit him. The driver could not stop and provide help.

Escobar was declared dead at the crime scene.

“This went from an honest accident to a crime,” said Almaras. “It has not stopped helping him to provide help, call 911 or anything.”

The vehicle cases found at the crime scene stated that the driver's vehicle could be a metallic gray Nissan Rogue Sport 2017-2019.

The police said they believe that the passenger side of the vehicle is damaged, whereby the passenger side mirror is missing.

When Almaras thought about her brother, he said: “Casey, you were all the life in my butt. But you are my little brother, and I love you so much and we miss you very much.”
