Cavs' Donovan Mitchell to get the MRI when ankle injury after being ended against Pacers in game 4

The star of Cleveland Cavaliers, Donovan Mitchell, will undergo an MRI on Monday after being injured against the Indiana Pacers in game 4 during the defeat from 129 to 109 on Sunday, said head coach Kenny Atkinson after the game.

Mitchell's availability in the future will remain uncertain because the team is waiting for the results of the scans.

Mitchell seemed to optimize his ankle while warming up for the third quarter, taking an unpleasant step near the tip of the arch before he doubled with his hands on his knees.

At the beginning of the second half, he did not return to the bench and was replaced by Ty Jerome as the starter of the second half.

The 28-year-old ended the first half with 12 points in 3-of-11 shooting together with a steal and a block.

A return of Mitchell seemed unlikely after the Cavaliers were historically shot in the first half in the first half and remained 80-39 during the break. Cleveland only managed 16 points in the second quarter and was exceeded by 26.

The series is now moving back to Cleveland, whereby the game is planned for Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. With or without Mitchell, the Cavaliers need a victory to ward off the removal, since the Pacers currently have a 3-1 series lead.
