A 22-year-old man was killed by electric shock in storms on Tuesday evening, the police of State College said in an release. The man's name is held back until the family notification.

The police, Alpha Fire Company and the Life Ems Center, reacted to men on Tuesday at 7:17 p.m. in the 1500 Block of the University Drive at 7:17 p.m. The man had come across an active electrical current when he tried to extinguish a mulch fire and was passed away at the crime scene.

Heavy storms met the State College and Central Pennsylvania on Tuesday, downing trees and the power for tens of thousands of residents. The residents were instructed not to touch or come into contact with dilapidated power lines.
