Body Camera Video shows the mother's reaction after the 1-year-old was found with severe burns

Akron, Ohio (Woio)-a 1-year-old was found by her mother with severe burns in the whole face, back and in the body at the weekend.

According to the Akron police, the child had a babysitter while the mother was not in the city. During the care of the 52-year-old woman, who was now identified as Kimberly Richmond, the baby was placed in a bath in which the water was extremely hot, which led to significant injuries.

“This is someone with whom the family is familiar with and that the child has previously observed,” said Michael Murphy, public information officer from Akron. “When she came and the child picked up after a few days, she noticed that the child was all of these burns.”

The 1-year-old put the first, second and third degree of the incident. Despite the obvious sign of an injury, the babysitter was not looking for help.

“The special thing about it is that the mother was not informed beforehand,” said Murphy. “The child was not seen in the hospital, and the suspect tried not to try to notify someone, to look for care or the like.”

Richmond was arrested and booked into the prison of Summit County, where she is exposed to 2 charges for risk to children.
