Live updates: US China tariffs Agreement after trade discussions

The US Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke separately on Sunday with his British counterpart and the German Chancellor and confirmed that the position of the United States for the Russian war in Ukraine remains “an immediate ceasefire”.

In a separate call, Rubio and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz discussed a recent meeting between the European leaders and the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the “common goal of ending the war in Ukraine,” said state reading.

The calls come when the British Foreign Minister David Lammy is to organize European delegations in London on Monday for critical discussions about Ukraine and the future of European security. And how the Russian President Vladimir Putin ignores calls from the great European allies of Ukraine to agree on Monday an unconditional 30-day ceasefire or to face “massive” new sanctions.

The US President Donald Trump asked Ukraine to accept the offer of Russian President Vladimir Putin for direct talks on Thursday in Istanbul and to agree to Russia for an armistice.

Zelensky said he was ready to meet Vladimir Putin. However, the allies of Ukraine emphasized that no further conversations should be held before Putin agrees to an unconditional ceasefire.

And Andriy Yermak, the head of the Ukrainian President, said in an interview with the local media that the first step towards the negotiations to end war in Ukraine is still based on whether Russia will agree to a 30-day ceasefire.

Representatives from France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Poland and the EU are expected to take part in the talks on Monday in London, according to the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to Reuters, Lammy plans to announce further sanctions against actors who support Russia's invasion of Russia into Ukraine.
