Local companies come together to support the wounded MPs who were killed during the traffic stop

Evans, GA. (WRDW/dares) – The community continues to show strong support for deputy Gavin White and fall Deputy Brandon Sikes.

The funeral for deputy Sikes is Monday at 12 p.m. in the Columbia County Performing Arts Center.

The sheriff's office says that Deputy White is making good progress because he is now going and speaks with a positive attitude.

Local companies offer you the opportunity to return and support the families of deputy Sikes and deputy white.

Local companies in the region have launched a number of fundraisers and initiatives to offer the members of the community a room to honor both deputies and their families.

Pelicans Snoballs in Grovetown donates 20% of sales to the Deputy White family by Friday.

Owner Joseph Chrisit heard the news and didn't think about returning something twice.

When Chrisite found that one of the MPs was the son of a long -time friend who has a business a few doors below, he decided to go the extra mile.

Chrisite also has Christies Coffee Co; He merges with Reeves Reality in Harlem and donates part of the sale to both families.

This initiative begins in Harlem on Wednesday and runs through until Friday

All three locations of Taqueria El Ray will organize a spirit day on May 15th

“The whole reason why we do this is that it is that we are called to. Jesus calls us to love others as if we love ourselves,” explains Chrisite. “And when it comes to helping we have to do here. It is the jumping reason why we exist. So we will simply give something back and hopefully make a difference in a person's life.”

“It's great to see how our community rises,” says Ramiro Galvan, owner of Taqueria El Ray. “I know many other owners who do the same or the like, and it just feels great. It feels great that our community comes together.”
