Lando Norris emphasizes McLaren 'Focus' on important F1 concerns

Lando Norris claimed that McLaren is too aware of the risk of making a balance between the current season and the development of the car of the next year.

The squad based in Woking experienced a successful start to the current campaign and won five of the six races.

It is now the favorite to take over the championships of the drivers and the designers after securing the double title success in 1998.

McLaren had endured in the Turbo hybrid era for a long time before taking one step forward in the middle of the 2023 campaign.

After Norris successfully built up the upswing, he praised the current atmosphere in the team.

“It's great,” said the Brit, including the media, including Racingnews365. “Obviously there is a good atmosphere because it is the best start to a season that McLaren has had for many years.

“For many people at MTC, it is a dream start – we win race. This is what we do here and can be achieved.

“Both championships are our goal. It is a great atmosphere, but the main thing is that everyone is still working very well together.”

McLaren is already concentrating on 2026 F1 car

However, the teams are already looking at the 2026 season, when the regulation threatens to clear up the Hacks regulations and to punish those who commit themselves too late to develop the car.

When McLaren tries to get his advantage in the new era of sport, Norris said that there is already a strong focus on the challenger of the next year.

“There is determination for this year, but also a lot of focus on next year and ensure that we do not relax or become complacent,” he said.

“But we also know why we are doing well. What I think is very important. It's not as if we have in the position in which we are now.

“The team is currently very competent, and this is a very good position. With managers such as Zak and Andrea, who keep the team on trot, work hard, look into the future and remind us of our competition and how close they can be.

“The fact that we have not won all races so far, we are not happy about it. It is a very good spirit in the team.

“The same applies to Oscar. We both get along, like to work together. I press him, he pushes me and that's good for the team. So yes, all positive things.”
