The female rugby player injured himself after the horror tackle of Transgender opponents asked: “How could that happen?

A young rugby player who screamed after a transgender rival has torn her knee stands apart, who accused sports director of having abandoned them.

The 20 -year -old Elena King suffered a torn ACL and MCL in the Netherlands in January after her biologically male opponent from his left knee came out of his socket with an exclusive challenge.

It is now confronted with lifelong pain and six months of physiotherapy to run again and asks why the Dutch Rugby Association enables transgender athletes to compete against women.

Serious injuries are part of the package for the risk of playing rugby, but King insists that the sheer strength that it was exposed to, something that should not have been allowed in the women's game.

“I felt the strength used against me: it is nothing that I can explain because I don't have this strength myself,” said King to The Times.

»An CIS woman couldn't have pulled my leg out of the socket … I heard a really loud pop. Then I started screaming. My leg burned.

“I don't want it to ever happen to someone because I don't want it to happen to me. It could have been prevented. '

King, who comes from Dutch, English and Scottish heritage, has recovered since her horror injury in the Dutch Premiership in January at home in Amsterdam.

She is now taking legal advice and has been looking for stories from other players after the time. Her opponent Ashley Mooney then played in the game, but was then suspended and missed four games. Mooney returned to the campaign in early May and won players of the game at the weekend.

In a blog post, King describes how she was already nervous to see her opponent after Mooney supposedly caused a blue eye, rib and spine injuries, one of my dear teammates coming out of the field.

This incident was raised with the Dutch rugby union, she says, but the answer came back that “it's okay”.

During the game against Breda Dame Rugby Club, King describes how she was founded by two players when the trans player started to combat one of her legs (not both, as you should) – with a shoulder below the kneecap.

'The trans player came from the left and my knee does not bend. So the transplayer pushed her shoulder into my knee and pulled her arms closer to himself with great strength, ”King writes in her heartbreaking blog.

'I then heard a massive bright noise. I screamed out my lungs. The trans player had pulled my pretty little knee out of his socket and broke my MCL and ACL in a single movement.

“Later I heard that teammates on the field had to go over their ears with their hands because my screams sounded too painful.”

King had to be carried away by her teammates because the opposing club did not make any wear.

She adds: “I knew that it was serious, I didn't feel connected to my knee at all, later I would find that my nerves were dead because the leagues were completely torn apart. I understood that yesterday was far too far away and would not look the same tomorrow.

“Suddenly I felt very alone in my own body, my knee no longer felt like it was a part of me. My lower leg felt like a dead weight and pulled my knee apart. '

“I kept going back to the moment when I felt the male strength of this trans player. It is something that I am still going through my head. It was a kind of strength that I only felt in my youth when I played with the older boys. The kind of strength with which women cannot keep up. Women do not have this strength.

“I cannot make peace that felt like an attack on my body. I cannot have peace if I know that if the Dutch Rugby Association had protected my security, by not allowed transgender to the women's competition, I hadn't pulled my pretty little knee out of its socket.

“I cannot understand how the Dutch Rugby Association can enable biological men to play in rugby for women. A contact sport, in which injuries are more likely to occur. '

In March, King had an audience at the Dutch Rugby Association, but said that they had given her the feeling that the whole thing was my fault.

“I am incredibly disappointed from this meeting,” she wrote. “It was clear to me that the Dutch Rugby Association had nothing to do with this problem. They put security in our sport in safety. The only thing they did was against science to go through the world and hope that nothing would happen. '

She explains that “Transhobia Phobia” has frightened people to talk about security.

“Inclusion is important,” she told Times. 'This is also not what I am about. It has to do with certainty. Women want the best for everyone: We want everyone to feel involved. Of course people are like, why not? But then you actually see the reasons why it is not possible. We have women's rooms for a certain reason. '

Dutch news also reports that club officials had previously been concerned about a certain player who had caused several injuries.

The Dutch Rugby union has not set any formal politics for transgender players, although they were called on on May 9 for a discussion about the topic.

Since then, you have set up a “group of experts” to assess whether you have to adjust your attitude to participate transgender.

A board member of the Dutch Rugby Union told the Times: “Inclusion, fairness and player safety are extremely important principles of rugby sport. Precisely because the risk of injury in rugby is higher, security in the field takes very seriously. For this reason, the Federation is aimed at strict rules when it comes to dangerous game. '

Her Laissez-Faire posture has so far not been with World Rugby what was the first international sports association in 2020 to prohibit the trans women from elite and international sport.

Then, in 2022, Rugby Football League and Rugby Football Union Transgender players from only female formats. By 2023, the ban on all over England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland had been.
