According to the Sheriff's office in Holmes, an obvious Tornado affected several areas in the northwestern section of the district on Saturday, which led to “serious damage to houses and property”.

Officials said at least 18 houses and other structures were damaged. At least one injury was reported.

A video that was recorded by a helicopter that flies across affected areas showed more than several structures, numerous downright trees and debris about the region.

On Sunday afternoon, officials said that the governor of Florida, Ron Desantis, had issued an executive regulation in which the state of emergency in the county was declared.
