The willingness of US President Donald Trump to accept a wasteful jumbo jet from the royal family of Qatar has triggered criticism of the legal organizations of what the largest foreign gift would ever mark by the US government.

Trump is preparing to accept a Boeing 747-8, which he will then use as Air Force 1, four sources who are familiar with the plan told NBC News.

It is expected that ownership of the gifts will be transferred to the Trump Presidential Library Foundation as soon as Trump ends his second term, said two of the sources.

An official of the high -ranking Ministry of Justice announced NBC News that the office of the lawyer of the Ministry of Justice prepared a memo that was approved by General Prosecutor Pam Bondi, which approved the legality of the Ministry of Defense, to accept the gift of 747 by Qatar by Qatar, which is used as Air Force One – and then used to Trump after the office should. Such a memo was not published publicly.

In conversation with reporters in the White House on Monday, Trump said that every assumption of the aircraft was due to delays from US manufacturers Boeingwhich does the famous double deck 747.

“You look at some Arab countries and planes that you have parked next to the United States aircraft, it is like another planet,” said Trump.

“I have great respect for the leadership and for the leader Qatar [manufacturing delays] Because you buy Boeings, buy a lot of Boeing and you knew about it and you said we would like to do something. And if we can use a 747 as a contribution to our Ministry of Defense for a few years while building the others, I think that this was a very nice gesture, “continued Trump.

“External influence”

Democratic legislators and Trump allies have sharply criticized the reported step and said that the wasteful nature of the gift raises serious legal and ethical concerns.

“I don't know who has to hear that, but no, Donald Trump cannot accept a 400 million US dollar -flying palace of the royal family of Qatar,” said US Senator for Vermont Bernie Sanders on the social media platform X.

“This is not only so corrupt that is unconstitutional.

In the meantime, Laura Loomer said that a right-wing extremist allied from Trump that the acceptance of Katar's aircraft would be a “stain” for the Trump administration.

In a post about the social truth, however, Trump seemed to defend the prospect of Qatar to give his administration the plane.

“The fact that the Ministry of Defense receives a gift from a 747 aircraft free of charge to temporarily replace the 40 -year -old Air Force One in a very public and transparent transaction, disturbs the crooked democrats that they insist that we, top dollars, for the aircraft, for the aircraft,” said Trump.

The news comes when Trump is preparing to attend Qatar this week for his first big trip abroad of his second term.

Ali al-Ansari, Qatar's media attachment, said CNBC that all reports that the jet would be given during the trip were inaccurate.

“The possible transfer of an aircraft for temporary use as a Luftwaffe one is currently being taken into account between the Qatar Department of Defense and the US Department of Defense. However, the matter is still checked by the respective legal departments, and no decision was made,” said al-Ansari.

The Press spokeswoman of the White House, Karoline Leavitt, told Fox News that she was not concerned that Qatar was expecting something for the aircraft in return and said that Trump “only worked with the interests of the American public”.

In a statement that CNBC presented on Monday, Leavitt said: “Every gift from a foreign government is always accepted in full compliance with all applicable laws. President Trump's administration is obliged to complete transparency.”

The plane will not be presented to the president this week, while Trump is in the region, according to an official of the White House, which anonymity was granted to describe a developing situation

The democratic chairman of the Senate, Chuck Schumer, argued that the acceptance of such a gift welcomed “foreign influence”.

“Nothing says 'America First' like Air Force One, which was brought to them by Qatar. It is not just bribery, it is first -class foreign influence with an additional legroom,” said Schumer on X.

Rep. Brendan Boyle (D-Pa) told MSNBCS The Weekend: Primetime: “I know that many people could be deaf at this point, but we can never allow ourselves to get deaf. Even if surveys are not the problem that is astonishing for most voters, does the problem, but still,” said, “said Boyle.

“We have to legally pursue this from the dishes, we have to sharpen public awareness. It is absolutely remarkable to the record levels of corruption we see,” he added.
