Wolfe Video occurs streaming, announces a new content board

Exclusive: The Wolfe video marks the 40th anniversary with the 40th anniversary and shakes things and goes with a new leadership and a strategy for streaming-centered release in Cannes.

The oldest and largest distributor of LGBTQ films in the world recently revised its management team and promoted the former EVP of distribution, Evan Schwartz, for content after switching to Wolfe in 2017 when the company launched a new infrastructure for digital fulfillment and a global distribution network.

“It is an exciting opportunity to continue the inheritance of the Wolfe video in this unprecedented industry landscape and in a cultural climate,” said Schwartz, who previously held positions in Cinetic, reinforcement of release, brainstorm media and exit. “I look forward to bringing Wolfe video to new heights and at the same time honoring the company's revolutionary mission.”

Kathy Wolfe, who founded the company in 1985 and retired from her role as CEO at the beginning of this year, continued in an advisory role at Wolfe.

“Wolfe video started as a passion project to bring LGBTQ+ stories to light when they were almost invisible,” said Wolfe. “In the past 40 years, it has been incredible to observe how far we have come in terms of representation and visibility. I am thrilled that Wolfe Video, as always, drives the company's mission.”

Since the 1980s, the trail blazing distributor has been one of the first to deliver LGBTQ title for blockbusters, Hollywood Video and Netflixs DVD-by-email service, in addition to the starting partner for the latter streaming service in 2007. Wolfe is active for films as such as films as films. Big Eden (2000), Dirty life (2000) and Hurricane Bianca (2016) as well as multiple independent Spirit Award and Glaad Media Award nominated.

After visiting the Cannes Film Festival this month, Wolfe Video will act as a platinum sponsor at the Provincetown Film Festival in June.
