Ed Sheeran reveals Archival Instagram account in front of the new single “Old Phone”, including decades of photos with Taylor Swift, Elton John and more

Yesterday (April 29) Sheeran went on Instagram to show that he tacitly put together a second Instagram account in which he thinks about his life in 2015. The account is called Teddy's old phone and has published decades of pictures in the past month and slowly but quietly created a supporter.

The “A -Team” singer has now publicly introduced the account of his new single “Old Phone” to think about his experience through one of his old mobile devices.

The account offers a background story for its upcoming song, which was inspired by his time, which was sued years ago for copyright claims when he had to go through an old phone for evidence and re -memories in emotions.

Sheeran now writes that he is going through his phone and reveals that the first thing he met with an old SMS was an old SMS from the late Jamal Edwards, followed by news from an ex-girlfriend and family members with whom he had not spoken for years.

Sheeran wrote: “It felt like a time capsule, a time of life in which I was and lived in 2015 at that time. I really put myself and found myself, news and conversations with people who are no longer here.

“It feels like a song that should have been in my debut album, but also a song that I couldn't have written until I have experienced real things. It makes me sing emotionally. I also find a little emotions in you. Maybe you can put your old phone in and take a look at where you were a decade ago. Whatever, I am glad that I wrote it.”

Among the over 200 articles that he shared on the Archival Instagram page are old, personal photos of his cell phone with Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Usher, Sam Smith, Elton John and more.

Sheeran was “Old Phone” for the first time during a performance The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last month.

Sheeran recently published the video of 'Azizam' – which is named after a Persian concept of tenderness that leads to “My Dear” or “My Loved” – and sees the singer with a lively Persian wedding. It is the first publication from its upcoming album 'Play', which has not yet received an official release date.

Sheeran has also confirmed that a new track called 'Sapphire' will be released in the coming months, and he revealed that he plans to share new music every two or three weeks.

The singer-songwriter will play a number of European shows from May to September 2025 before ending the year with appearances in Bhutan, India, Qatar and Bahrain.

Elsewhere, last week, he met Noah Kahan to carry out a short acoustic duet in a pub in Nashville, and previously he played Coachella 2025, where he was announced as a late addition to the Mojave stage.
