Nebraska family of four 4 years of age who were killed in obvious murder self-murder, the police say, the police say

A family in Nebraska calls for more accessible mental health care after a husband, her two children in teenage age were found dead in their house on Saturday morning, which the authorities say that it is an obvious murder self-murder.

They were identified as Bailey Koch, 41; Her husband Jeremy Koch, 42; And her sons Hudson, 18 and Asher, 16.

After a preliminary investigation, the authorities said that Jeremy Koch killed his family before they committed suicide, the Nebraska State Patrol said in a press release. All four had fatal stab wounds and a knife was found at the scene, the police said.

Lane and Peggy Kugler, the parents of Bailey, said Jeremy had to struggle with his mental health for years and his wife tried to get him help.

“Jeremy had fought for many years for many years against mental illnesses. His depression had turned into psychosis. It was not Jeremy who had committed this terrible act. It was a sick mind,” the Kuglers wrote on their joint Facebook page.

“Bailey, Jeremy and the boy's faith were very strong. It really helped them. We find strength in our belief that the sky now sitting four new angels on the right hand of God. They are together and Jeremy's illness has disappeared,” said the post.

The couple said that Bailey and their children had “lived in fear of the opportunity to lose their husband and father for many years to mental illnesses”. Bailey repeatedly tried to bring him help and documented the trip on the Facebook page “Anchoring the Hope for Mental Health”.

Days before death, Jeremy had been released from a hospital for mental health, Bailey wrote in one post on Thursday. She made another post later that day and said her husband had problems.

In a post on Friday, one day before death, Bailey said that they had signed paper stuff so that Jeremy could start treating mental health.

“We feel heard, seen and supported. We feel confident that TMS in Kearney will be led mentally at Serene Mental Health,” she wrote, shared photos from the facility.

The Kuglers wrote that the mental health industry “tries to help people” so difficult, but overall “the country's mental health care is a disaster”.

“Our daughter and family were killed with a knife by a sick spirit,” they wrote. “Far too many sick heads don't have to go anywhere. Yes, there is help that can be obtained, but not close enough.

The deaths occurred hours before graduating from high school.

“Cozad Schools was drawn to a tragic situation that will deeply influence our Cozad community. Our thoughts are with all those who are affected in this incredibly difficult time,” said the Cozad Schools in a Facebook post on Saturday afternoon. “We appreciate the strength and support of our community when we come together in nursing, compassion and unity.”

The Nebraska State Patrol said that the investigation of deaths continues.
