The police in Birmingham arrested 69 in crime, takes over drugs and firearms

Birmingham, ala. – The Special Enforcement Division of the Birmingham Police Department has made 69 arrests as part of its ongoing efforts to reduce crime and improve public security in the city. Between May 5 and 11, 2025, the department carried out operations that aim at areas with high priority, which led to significant enforcement measures.

The arrests included 46 crimes and 23 offenses. The officials also carried out 214 traffic stops and issued 189 quotations, including 20 for the speed crossing. In addition, 18 firearms were confiscated and 14 vehicles were confiscated, two of which were stolen and then restored.

The operation led to the confiscation of various narcotics, including 65.6 grams of crack cocaine, 64.6 grams of crystal meth and 5,942.98 grams of marijuana. Other confiscated drugs were Adderall, Alprazolam, Carisoprodol, cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, MDMA, methamphetamine and prompthazine in various forms. The police also confiscated 8,197 US dollars in currency.
