Weather warning: flood guard for Alexandria, surrounding areas exhibited

According to the National Weather Service, Alexandria and nearby areas are under a tidal guard from Tuesday morning until late on Tuesday evening. The alarm willingness, which was issued on Monday afternoon, covers parts of Western Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.

Heavy rain could lead to floods in streams, streams and deep areas. Some roads can become impassable with increasing water level.

“Flooding can take place due to excessive drainage of locations at risk of flooding,” says the National Weather Service.

A long section with moderate to heavy rain, in which some thunderstorms are mixed, is expected to begin late Monday evening and continue until Tuesday evening. In most areas, 2 to 4 inch rain will probably take place, with higher quantities possible near the Blue Ridge Mountains and Alleghenies.

The residents should keep an eye on the weather updates and be ready for possible flood warnings. If you live in an area that often floods, you have a plan in the case.

The National Weather Service recommends checking www.weather.gov/safety/flood to get tips for flood safety and preparation.

The flood guard includes Alexandria, Arlington if Church, Fairfax and parts of Prince William County.
