Pregnant woman who was killed by San Jose

A pregnant woman who was killed in an accident in San Jose together with her unborn child was identified.

The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner office identified the woman on Thursday as Violet Owens Zamora, 25, from San Jose.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Zamora's unborn child also died.

The crash was reported on the Interstate 280 to the south at 7:30 p.m., north of Bird Avenue.

Officer Ross Lee said it seemed that Zamora, who drove a green Honda Civic, lost control of the car, crossed all the traces of traffic and fell against a Ford F-1550 pickup. She was teased on the highway, said Lee.

The investigators do not believe that she was wearing a seat belt at that time.

Two children, about 2 and 5 years old, were also in the car and survived the crash.
