Indiana Grown Showcase highlights local products

Indiana Grown's second annual growth showcase has highlighted over 75 local providers, companies and craftsmen to encourage food distributors and procurement specialists, to support Indiana's local products.

Governor Mike Braun took part in the event and emphasized how important it is to buy locally.

“The Indiana Grown Showcase was a great opportunity for chefs and restaurants to learn more about the local dishes and to support these food entrepreneurs,” said Braun. “It was a pleasure to meet so many great companies in Indiana, and as an entrepreneur myself, I particularly enjoyed hearing their stories about triumph and success.”

Lt. Governor Micah Beckwith, also present, celebrated the commitment and passion of local companies.

“Indiana Grown is about celebrating what makes our state special – hard -working entrepreneurs, high -quality local products and a strong community that supports each other. This event really brought this to life,” said Beckwith.

The curated event combined local companies with distributors, food service experts, retailers and chefs and helped them to expand their wholesale and retail partnerships. Indiana companies such as Tulip Tree Creamery from Indianapolis noticed the success of the event when promoting valuable connections.

“This was our second year at this event, and the number of participants exceeded my expectations,” said Laura Davenport from Tulip Tree Creamery. “It was great to see new faces, old friends and local companies that support us.”

The objects presented included beef, bison, baked goods, spices, honey, craftsmanship and more that were created by the members adults adults. The event also formed a platform for small companies to connect with potential buyers.

“It is always great to see the faces behind some of the best products in Indiana,” said Don Lamb, director of the Indiana Ministry of Agriculture.
