Google I/O 2025: How to reveal all AI and Android

Google has prepared to hold its largest developer conference of the year, Google I/O 2025, May 20 and 21, CEO Sundar Pichai, Deepmind-CEO and CCO founder Demis Hassabis.

We expect Google I/O 2025 to focus very much on AI (seriously).

The family of AI models from Google, Gemini, will probably be the focus during the Google I/O 2025, as Pichai and Hassabis continue their move for dominance via Openai, Xai, Anthropic and other well-financed competitors. We also expect updates regarding the projects from Deepmind, such as the multimodal AI system project Astra. At Google I/O last year, the company teased a smart glasses that was driven by Project Astra.

A central topic on Google I/O 2025 is how KI infiltrates all Google products. For example, Google's search manager Elizabeth Reid makes a lecture on the AI phase about how generative AI “revolutionize the search”. Other Google Managers should talk about how scientists use AI, how AI agents use apps for users and how Waymos use autonomous vehicles to navigate the physical world.

The keynote of Google I/O 2025 starts on May 20 at 10 a.m. PT from the Shoreline Amphitheater of the company in Mountain View. You can watch a live stream from Google's keynote here or look at the embeds below. The developer keynote begins at 1:30 p.m. PT. As the name suggests, the developer keynote focuses less on the consumer side of things.

Later a day, Hassabis will talk about the future of Deepminds KI and its effects on the world at 3:30 p.m. PT with Alex Kantrowitz, moderator of the Big Technology Podcast. At the same time, live stream talks about the latest updates for Android, Chrome and Google Cloud are given.

Some of the conversations on Google I/O will not be livestream, but luck for you is that Techcrunch covers the greatest announcements of the event.
